Thank You

Another holiday season at its end; another year in the past. For most of us, 2022 came with ups and downs, with ease and with hardships. Now, at the end of one year in preparation for the next, it’s important to reflect on the journey that 2022 offered and, like a piece to a puzzle, consider how this year can fit into our grander life journeys – our personal odysseys.

Complete reflection encompasses acknowledgement of challenges that we’ve faced as well as obstacles that we’ve overcome – bringing to mind the times that we’ve ridden the waves while also remembering the times that we’ve fought the current – and knowing that every one of our experiences allows us to evolve into truer versions of ourselves. With that understanding, we should extend gratitude to the year we leave behind.   

Here at Yoga Odyssey, we reflect on the past year with gratitude for our community. As the owner and leader of our space, I have kept you on your toes. I have introduced new teachers, unique class flows and various styles of yoga – all of which you have received with an infectious positivity and uplifting support for one another and for the practice of yoga. Our instructors radiate genuine care and acceptance and our students have found a safe space within our walls. With that comfort has come a willingness to expand the boundaries of our comfort zones and an eagerness to challenge ourselves.    

As human beings, we seek to belong to a group of likeminded others, accomplish challenging goals and define ourselves in terms of our passions. Today’s world can often make satisfying these core needs difficult; however, our community offers a distinct vibrance and inspiring energy that allows us to tune out of our hectic days and into ourselves. It is welcoming and encouraging. For many of us, it is a place of solace, joy, unity and empowerment. As a result, we embark on the new year with hope and excitement.    

Yoga Odyssey’s mission is for constant growth. We stand for never peaking, never remaining stagnant but rather understanding that we are never complete – that there is always more to learn, teach, accomplish and inspire. Because of the community that you have all unified to create, I truly believe that we are able to embody life’s journey with open-mindedness towards the world, non-judgement towards each other and patience towards ourselves. For what we have built, I am abundantly grateful; and for what is yet to come, I am entirely optimistic.
